Frequently Asked Questions

The fertilizer provides the lawn with the nutrients that create the root system to expand and begin to cover the bare spots. By filling in the bare spots, this blocks the weed seed from taking hold as they depend on these spots to grow. Thick, green lawns leave no room for any other growth.

Watering two or three times a week (depending on the weather) is sufficient. When watering, make sure to do a “deep soak” each time so that the water percolates into the soil 4 to 6 inches. This will direct the roots to grow deeper down into the soil enhancing a strong healthy green lawn.

Ideal timing for watering a lawn is in the morning when the grass absorbs water faster than in the afternoon. The absorption of water helps the grass to retain the upright posture throughout the day and show off the vibrant green color.

As the days get cooler, we need to start preparing our grass for the cold months ahead. Aerating and fertilizing are just a few ways that will stimulate root growth to enhance the return of the lawn in early spring.
